Dang, I never realized how much Eric B. & Rakim have been sampled in music nowadays. 50 Cent says "My favorite rapper used to sing Check, check out my melody" in Hate It or Love It. When he said that, all I could think of was Limp Biskit's song "My Way," which says "Check out, check check out, check check check, check out my melody." But evidently, both 50 Cent and Limp Biskit were referencing Eric B. & Rakim's song "My Melody." Also, I was listening to My Melody, and the intro music sounded really familiar, and I finally placed where I'd heard it before. It was used for Teairra Mari's song "Make Her Feel Good." And then I played their song "Paid In Full," which I had heard of before, but never listened to. And the intro music was identical to 50 Cent's song "Candy Shop." It also has this flute-like part that is reminescent of Jay-Z's song "Big Pimpin'." Now, Teairra Marí worked with Jay-Z to make the song "Make Her Feel Good" since Jay-Z had become the president of Def Jam. Also, the Roc-A-Fella Records label is cofounded by Jay-Z, and Roc produced the movie "Paid In Full." So yeah, done. Goodnight.
